POIQ is a companion communication robot created by Sony in 2022 as part of a data training project to help create a more natural and tailored AI conversation model. The robot was given to people who signed up and were picked to participate in the project. After the project was ended, POIQ units were rendered useless and participants were allowed to keep the hardware. Many pop up for sale on Japanese resale websites, so I purchased one to take apart and document.

POIQ Battery
The POIQ uses a readily available NP-FZ100 battery which is commonly used by Sony's A7 series of mirrorless cameras. Last image shows the battery installed in the robot.
