Iconic pink ball toy which has been included with every aibo release. Having it's roots back to the RoboCup and even MUTANT prototype days when it was originally orange, the pink ball has become a symbol for the aibo line's autonomous capabilities.
In ERS-110/111 and ERS-210/220 models early on, the pink ball served mainly as a ball to be kicked or tracked. But with the later ERS-300 series robots this changed as the ball was used more for different functions, like playing with while the aibo is on its back. And with Aibo Recognition for ERS-210 the ball was placed on top of the station pole to help with self docking onto the station.
The ball's form factor has changed slightly over the years. Starting off as squishy with the 110, before switching to plastic with the 111. This plastic trend kept consistent throughout the 2xx, 3xx and 7 era - the ball being hot pink with the aibo logo moulded into it.
