I wanted to see if it was possible to make shells for the ERS-1000 that actually fit with the existing shells. Ive been obsessed with the clear ERS-1000 that was shown at events on a few separate occasions, so I wondered if I could make aspects of that aibo for my own custom aibo. My main ambition was to create the faceplate, but that part is very complicated, so I first tried with an easier part.
The front outer legs plastics are fairly straightforward in shape and don't have tabs, so they were easier to create. But I found them still challenging to make and have them fit with the OEM inner shell. The newly molded parts suffered from thickness fluctuation and bubbles causing missing zones on the shell. So I had to keep trying until I got a usable part.

The leg it was going on was going to be painted all black, so I dyed the part so that it was black but still had some transparency.
In the future I would like to make all parts transparent, but I think the cost of the project would be large.
ERS-1000用のシェルを、既存のシェルに合うように作れるか試してみたかったんです。何度かイベントで展示されていた透明のERS-1000に一目惚れして、あのaiboのパーツを自分のカスタムaiboに再現できないかと考えました。一番の目標はフェイスプレートを作ることでしたが、そのパーツは非常に複雑なので、まずは簡単なパーツから試してみました。
前脚のプラスチック部分は形がシンプルでタブもないので作りやすかったですが、それでも純正のインナーシェルに合うように作るのは難しかったです。新しく成形したパーツは厚みのムラや気泡が多く、シェルに欠けが生じてしまうことがありました。そのため、使えるパーツができるまで何度も試行錯誤しました。

取り付ける脚は黒く塗装する予定だったので、黒でありながら透明感も残るように染色しました。
将来的にはすべての部分を透明化したいと考えていますが、プロジェクトコストが大きくなると思います。
