Moflin is a small, fur covered companion robot released by Casio in 2025 to the Japanese market before being sold in other regions. The Moflin project started as a kickstarter campaign by Vangard, before the project was later absorbed by Casio. Casio and Vangard built Moflins differ slightly in appearance and also run different software that's incompatible.
The Casio moflin is being actively worked on, with software updates being released frequently via the dedicated mobile application. The phone app allows users to view how their Moflin is feeling as well as view an activity log.

As of 2026, Casio has expanded Moflin's availability to the west, being available in the USA and UK for purchase.

The robot is relatively simple so there haven't been many issues reported with the Casio produced Moflins. However the Vangard Moflins can suffer from cracked internal gears.
The technology inside moflin is very basic - sensors include an ambient sensor positioned on its back which peers through the moflins fur to 'see' changes in light. Theres an accelerometer so the moflin knows when its being tilted or thrown. And finally there are two sets of touch pads (one in its head and a large one on the back) so it knows its being petted.

Reception to moflin has been positive, given its cute aesthetics and ease of entry. The size and shape make it very easy to take places and dress without fear of the robot breaking.

Moflin comes with a charging cradle which the Moflin sits inside of to wirelessly charge its battery. While cute, it can be difficult to correctly position the moflin in the cradle for wireless charging to start.
