空山氏とメカ設計チームの熱い討論や試行錯誤の末、ついに、ボディや手足と同じ素材でできた4つつのパーツをエラストマ（ゴムのような素材）で裏打ちした、あのゆらゆら揺れる耳が誕生したのである。

この尻尾の実現にも、耳の設計に負けず劣らず、メカ設計チームの汗と苦労がたっぷりと染み込んでいる。 まず、尻尾を縦にも横にも振れるようにするために、なんとモーターを2個も使った。
また、動きの繊細さを表現するために、尻尾自体にメガネフレームや携帯電話のアンテナなどに使われている超弾性のワイヤーを採用。
横に尻尾が振れるときには、尻尾がたわむようにある程度の重量を尻尾の先にもたせてあげるのがミソ。
更に縦に振らせるためには、もっといろいろな工夫が凝らされているのだ。
