The V3 charging station has useless square holes added to the underside next to the screws. This is just an educated guess, but given the internal changes I think this might be a visual sign that this is intended to be the final revision of the charging dock.

The V3 variant has black electrical tape keeping the flexible wires in place in the connectors. My guess is there has been instances of the stations cables wiggling loose over time, so this is their attempt of stopping the wire from doing that.
