The Aibo Energy station is a charging dock designed for ERS-2xx model robots. It features a large backlit LCD display that displays the internal aibo battery charging status, the status of the battery in the sub charging bay, the date and the time. There is a lid that can be lifted when the button on top is pressed in, revealing the sub battery bay and buttons needed to set the aibo's internal clock, timezone and date. There is also two largely overlooked slot either side where MemorySticks can be stored for quicker access.
It is compatible with both ERS-210 and ERS-220 aibo models.
It is very common for these stations to randomly stop working over time with age, so it is recommended to not pay a lot for one which is untested.
Self-charge Configuration
Later on, a set was released alongside Aibo Recognition that consisted of a bullseye mat and pole which clip onto the underside of the station and is used to help guide the aibo to self-charge while using the aiboware. Because the dock wasn't originally designed for this functionality and the software's less developed docking accuracy, this function can lead to the aibo scratching its paintwork or even falling over, so use with caution.
