The Aibone is an accessory that was first included with the ERS-7 series aibo robots and was brought back as optional extra for the ERS-1000. The concept has its roots back during the original aibo when a small polystyrene bone was included in the box for the ERS-11x series aibo to give aibo something to hold with the bite function. Developer interviews also reveal that the ERS-210 was the first aibo the team programmed to pick up a bone, but this function was abandoned as the ERS-210's jaw was not designed to hold objects.
The bone is used by aibo to perform an array of basic and complex tricks ranging from picking up and carrying the bone around, to balancing the bone on its nose (ERS-7 only). While the ERS-1000 is more precise when carrying out tricks and picking the bone up with a higher success rate; the ERS-7 has far more impressive and varied tricks it can do with the bone.
The bone's design is largely unchanged between the ERS-7 and ERS-1000 - the main differences being that the ERS-1000 bone has a rounder styling, updated logo and the part aibo bites on is slightly thicker.

ERS-7とERS-1000では、骨のデザインはほとんど変わっていません。主な違いは、ERS-1000の骨の方が丸みを帯びたスタイルになっており、ロゴが更新され、aiboが噛む部分がわずかに厚くなっている点です。
