Aibo Life for ERS-210 is a evolution of the 'Aibo-ware' software that was bundled with the ERS-11x robots. The software allows owners to 'raise' their aibo through stages of personality development from newborn to adult, forming a more personalised companion. Evolution is done through an on-board points system that measures various factors such as how many times it sees a colour, pets and pick ups.
Compared to Aibo-ware on the ERS-1xx, Aibo Life significantly decreases the overall time needed for a robot to reach the adult stage, making the ERS-210 easier to raise. There was also an alternative software released at launch called 'Hello Aibo' which skips the raising part altogether and gives users a fully adult aibo out of the box.
