The 3xx series was introduced as a budget Aibo model targeted towards women and children. The Aibos feature functionality similar to the 2xx series but with less moving parts and pet sensors. Their main interaction points is the hidden pet mechanism in their head and the tail which is actually a joystick!
All models came with a empty stand, AC adaptor, charging dongle and battery. Station core and software were optional.
Construction wise - they feel more sold than the 210/220. They share parts and layout with the ERS-7 meaning that mechanical issues seen in the 7 (such as slipping hips which stop the aibo walking and crunchy joints caused by cracked pinion gears) is also present in the 3xx aibos. Software-wise the 3xx has a mix of fun software to experience. Despite missing the extra motorised parts found on the other models, the software helps make up for it with charming animations and fun personalities. Each colour variety (latte/macaron/pug) has a precoded personality that shows up in certain software such as Life and Pal/Friend. Also an ERS-3xx running Kawaii Aibo can do things no other model can using retail software, such as walking on two legs. Some software were Japan-only releases, but you can translate the user guides and use translation applications to help you use them if you can't speak Japanese.
The 311B, 312B and 311B/X are Bluetooth versions, meaning they can be used with the Handy Viewer accessory and BT ready software. It's mainly used to see how the aibo is feeling.

ERS-31L (Pug)
The 31L/Pug was released to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of Aibo. Launched beside the supercore updates to the 210/220 and Bluetooth updates to the 311/312, the Pug carries a new aesthetic and affordable price tag of $599 making it the cheapest Aibo model ever released. It also came bundled with Aibo Pal Special Edition software which give the Aibo an energetic personality.
Additionally, starting June 10 AIBO [ERS-31L] can be purchased at Sony Style stores in San Francisco and New York, as well as the Sony Gallery in Chicago. As part of the third anniversary celebration, those purchasing the new robot during the month of June and while supplies last will receive a free AIBO Life AIBO-ware software package, which allows the owner to raise the robot from an infant to an adult, with their purchase.

ERS-311B/312B
From June 1st 2002 Sony phased out the original 311 and 312 models, replacing them with the Bluetooth-enabled 311B and 312B models costing 98,000 yen (excluding tax). They are visually the same apart from the horn lamp and tail now having a subtle pearl finish. The reserved switch in the battery bay now has a bluetooth on/off sticker. The bluetooth capability was to enable communication with the 'Handy Viewer' - a small handheld device with a screen that allows the user to recieve messages and status updates from the aibo. Kawaii Aibo, Talking Aibo with Namco and Chatty Life use this accessory in different ways.
For a fee, Japanese owners could pay to have their existing 311 and 312 upgraded into the bluetooth version for 30,450 yen (excluding tax 29,000 yen) (excluding packing materials and shipping).

ERS-311B/X Suede

The Suede was a SE version of the 311B released to celebrate the upgrade to Bluetooth connectivity. The internals are the same, but the shell is covered in flocking, similar to flocked figurines. It came bundled with a brush to keep the flocked surface clean.
Sadly stains are nutoriously hard, if not impossible to remove from the flocked surface so please be cautious not to spill anything on it if you own a ERS-311B/X.

Long Long Panda
This was a prize fluffy shell that could be clipped onto aibo to make it look like a panda. It comes with the 'Long Long Panda' software. The parts are low quality but the set is rare and sort after.
There are only 1001 of these panda suits produced, all given away as raffle prizes by Suntory Oolong Tea Company.

Suntory Red/Blue/Yellow
Suntory aibo is a model 311B that was distributed as a prize by Suntory. Its ears and neck donuts come in three colors: red, blue, and yellow, and it comes with software that lets it imitate drinking beer. They are rare.

Spare Parts
Spare replacement parts were available from the Japanese AIBO Clinic including the ears for 311/12, 311B/X and 31L. They weren't widely available so would require current owners to contact the Clinic and provide a serial number to prove ownership of the Aibo needing the part.
